Chocolate Truffles
Homemade Chocolate Truffles are the sweetest (and most delicious) way to show some love to all your favorite people - and yourself of course!
For the Truffles
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 12 ounces chocolate chips dark chocolate and/or semi sweet depending on personal preference
For the Toppings (choose your favorites, quantities are based on 6 truffles of each so adjust accordingly)
- 1/4 cup almonds finely chopped
- 1/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/8 cup sprinkles
Place cream, butter, and almond extract in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on medium power for about 3 minutes.
Add chocolate chips, let stand 1 minute, then stir well until blended.
Refrigerate 1 hour until firm enough to scoop.
Scoop mixture into about 1 inch balls and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roll balls in toppings of your choice then refrigerate until serving.
