It’s always a great idea to have a few go to recipes in the back of your head as far as appetizers or snacks go, especially during the holiday season when there are parties and gatherings to go to left and right. These pinwheels are such a great go-to recipe to have. They are incredibly simple and easy to make, they only have a few ingredients, and are so tasty and look amazing when you present them.
Pinwheels can be made using so many diverse ingredients including different varieties of cheeses, meats, and veggies. The ingredients in these pinwheels are great for the holiday season and that’s why I love this recipe; the red cranberries, green onions, and white cream cheese all look so great and festive when mixed together and rolled up. However, they’re so delicious that this is definitely not a ‘holidays-only’ recipe! Also, if you want to take them up a notch, try adding some smoked ham on top of the cream cheese before rolling them up. YUM!
After you roll up your pinwheels, it is super important that you wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes to an hour. This ensures that all the ingredients set up just right and that cutting them will be so much easier and they won’t fall apart. Once you cut them, arrange them on a nice serving tray and serve to your wonderful guests to enjoy. You’re sure to get many complements on these, everyone I’ve served them to just loves them!
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
- 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 3/4 cup feta, crumbled
- 1/4 cup green onion, chopped
- 5 large tortillas (flour, wheat, spinach, etc)
- Combine all ingredients (except tortillas) in a medium bowl and mix well.
- Divide the mixture evenly among the tortillas and spread over surface.
- Roll up tortillas tightly and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 30 minutes to an hour. This will make them much easier to cut and work with.
- Cut each roll into about 1 inch slices and serve.
